2010 School of Public Health Alumni and Friends Scholarship Gala

The University of Minnesota–School of Public Health invites you to attend its third annual Alumni and Friends Scholarship Gala on Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. at the Profile Event Center, 2630 University Avenue SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414. The Gala will feature keynote speaker Dean Kamen, an American inventor and physicist who has dedicated his life to developing technologies that help people lead better lives. Some of Kamen’s most notable inventions include the HomeChoice portable dialysis machine, the iBOT Mobility System and the Segway human transporter. Kamen also founded FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology), an organization dedicated to motivating the next generation to understand, use, and enjoy science and technology. The Alumni and Friends Scholarship Gala brings together public health professionals and others committed to public health in our community and around the globe. This premier event provides a means to network and support a new generation of leaders who hope to make public health their life's work. Individual tickets to the event are $60 ($30 tax-deductible). Table and event sponsorship opportunities also are available. All proceeds from the event support the School of Public Health Alumni Scholarship Fund, which benefits School of Public Health graduate students.
