A Little Bit About Louise

Hi, I’m Louise.

I am very excited to be part of Minnesota GO project and participate as a Teen Commentator.  I love creative thinking as well as solving problems.

I am currently involved in two other programs that use these skills.  One of these programs is called Future Problem Solvers in which teams of students compete to find the “best” solution to a specific scenario set in the future.  The most recent competition was centered on the topic of water quality.  The second program I am involved in is called Destination Imagination.  In this program teams put together wacky presentations based on a set of guidelines.  This year my team decided to do a portion of this program in which you do a service project and then present your results creatively.  For the last few months we have worked on gathering education/literacy materials and distributing them to Karen families (minority group in southeast Asia) in our school district.  I have found it is very rewarding to help people as well as work with people toward a common goal.

Besides these programs, I love doing any kind of art - playing my violin, creative writing, painting, drawing….  I also enjoy long distance running and run on both my school’s cross country team and track team.

I love being able to learn about many different views on an issue.   I look forward to hearing your thoughts on what the future will be like and how this will affect our transportation system!

Glad to see your participation in the achievement project. The points Epstein makes about the drugs to treat teen turmoil might be an interesting aspect of 2061 health care!
