Hannah's Blog

Hiya!

My name is Hannah Oakes. I'm a senior at the School of Environmental Studies and will be attending the University of Minnesota Duluth next year to study Political Science and Statistics. I've always loved reading about the environment and the economy, and a lot of the work I do with my school really helps me to become a much more rounded person, and I've become much more aware of all of the issues happening in the world around me.

I've lived in Minnesota for the last six years, but I've definitely not grown accustomed to the long winters yet, after coming from the vast desert of Arizona. While in Arizona I focused a lot of my time on sports and general school, and since entering high school and especially my last year of high school, I've really learned what my interests are, and I've become much more interested in the world as a big picture rather than my tiny little town of Rosemount.

Re-Introduction...

Hey :) I'm Hannah. I feel like a totally new person since my first blog post. I'm now rounding out the end of my first year of college up at UMD (Go Bulldogs!!). I'm a Geography and English Lit major, and I absolutely love the college and people around me.

Hannah! Come check out Week 5's question when you can. We're discussing whether or not teens make a connection between their lifestyles, habits, and choices and the cost of healthcare. I'm curious to hear what you think!

Hannah -- I know you've already been on the site this week, and I'm writing with hopes you'll do so again on Week 6 to see the responses and react. Seems adults and teens disagree, and it's an important time for teens to state their case! If you can spread the word once more at school, too, that would be great!
