    With all the investment already made in better infrastructure and safer vehicles, Preston asserts that in order to improve traffic safety we will need to focus more on changing driver behavior. Since the vast majority of crashes are caused by behavioral factors, should we be willing to give up more personal freedom to make us safer on the road?

      Yes. We need to declare a war on all distracted driving, including: eating, listening to the radio, controlling kids in the back seat, smart phone usage—even drinking our morning coffee.
