About This Project

The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) was tasked with creating a plan for how to spend money from the 2008 constitutional legacy amendment.  In November-December 2010, teens' advice on a draft plan helped co-create a vision for the legacy of Minnesota's parks and trails. Here's a final summary of teens' thinking.

What's new? The DNR has now submitted the final plan to the state legislature. Read it to see how the DNR incorporated your insights. Then, if you like, engage in activities to advocate for the plan at the legislature.

Parks and Trails Legacy Plan is now at the legislature!

Thank you for all of your help creating a vision for Minnesota's parks and trails via our discussion about how you would spend tax revenue from the Legacy Amendment. Your feedback and thoughtfulness has been tremendous, and we've learned a LOT from young Minnesotans throughout the state. Here's a summary of your work here on SSO.

Check out how your ideas were incorporated into the final Parks and Trails Legacy Plan which the DNR has now delivered to the Minnesota legislature for consideration. If you would like to advocate for the plan, click here for some suggestions.
