Introduce yourself!
Hello! My name is Lucas and I personally think MN should work more with public and pedestrian transportation. I mean, yes, cars are all fine and dandy but when thinking of the future they become an issue. More people means more cars which leads to more issues along the lines of climate change, fuel consumption and everyones favorite thing...traffic.
Hello! my name is Daniel. I think that minnestota needs to develop cars and trains/ rails that run "Green" I think they should impliment the motor that runes on water into cars. And for the rails/ trains attach solor panels. I like engeniring stuff so thisll be very interesting for me to particapate in the dicsussians. o(^.^)0
Hello!! My name is Hannah Oakes. I really feel like Minnesota transportation is going to have to keep the growing population as well as the concept of sustainabilty in mind as we head into the next 50 years. Can't wait to get this project really started, and I'm wicked excited for these discussions!!! =]
Hi, my name is Liz. If we're talking about Minnesota's transportation, there should be a resolution to the oil crisis right now... I think bicycle and city bus costs should be reduced, while oil prices are going up so more people will be forced to ride bikes. But if this 50 years later, technology (encourage more students to participate in science fairs to create projects dealing with solving the energy crisis!) might have advanced to a degree where we rely on the Sun, Moon, water, or wind much more than what we are using right now. Cars could run on solar power, and buses could work on a pully system, maybe add in some human labor? Nice to meet everyone, and I'm very excited for these futuristic plans!
Oh -- and one thing I think is important to consider when thinking about MN's transportation needs is that probably lots more of us will be "working from home" in the future. Does that mean we'll be on the roads less? Or more, with all our new free time during the day? Not sure.
Hi everyone, I'm Lars Johnson. I help with some of the techno stuff on this project. Looking forward to hearing from you all!
Hi everyone! I'm Lindsey Alexander and I'll be moderating with Kim. I'm excited to hear what possibilities you think the future holds! I think it's a great opportunity to apply our imagination to a topic of great importance to our state.
Hi my name is Jackquline gates i think one of the major things that needs to be considered in minnesota transportation needs within the next 50 years is the population growth in the suburbs and elongating the time period in which the buses and trains run out there.
Hi! I'm Kim Farris-Berg, and I'll be moderating the project along with Lindsey. I'm excited to hear from teens on what is sure to be a fun project. I think something important to consider is how rapidly technology is changing. There are going to be possibilities for work and living and going to school that we probably can't even imagine today.
Hello. My name is Tony Vogel and I think we need more roads and light rail
